Former Browns interim head coach Gregg Williams is speaking about joining Adam Gase’s staff with the Jets as defensive coordinator.

Williams impressed during his stint as Browns interim head coach following the firing of Hue Jackson. He led the Browns to a 5-3 record down the stretch and had them relevant down the stretch.
Williams was also the architect of one of the worst nights in Sam Darnold’s rookie season, an ugly Week 3 loss in a Thursday night game. One might wonder whether that remains in the team’s mind.
I can’t come up with much positive to say about the way the Jets have functioned over the last few weeks, but the rumored defensive coordinator candidates are among the few bright spots. Williams is a creative defensive mind, and I think he’d be a solid hire for the position if the Jets can work things out.
We will follow the situation.
