Sunday Night Football, Week 1. Prime time football returns to Sunday Night for the 2018 NFL season and we get the return of Aaron Rodgers to boot. What could be better than that? Tonight the Chicago Bears travel to legendary Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin to take on the Green Bay Packers.
The highlight of this game will be the return of the sublime Aaron Rodgers to the football field after missing much of the 2017 season due to injury. There to welcome Rodgers back to the NFL will be the Bears’ newest addition, star pass rusher Khalil Mack. I’m sure Rodgers and the rest of the NFC North quarterbacks are thrilled they’ll be seeing Mack on a twice a year basis now.
The Packers have the return of Aaron Rodgers and the addition of tight end Jimmy Graham to buoy their spirits. They also have a revamped secondary, featuring recent high draft picks Jaire Alexander, Kevin King and Josh Jones, as the Packers seek to lock down a glaring weakness in the back end of the defense over recent years. Jets fans will also see old friend Muhammad Wilkerson plodding along the Packers defensive front.
The Bears answer with second year quarterback Mitchell Trubisky, seeking to make a second year leap in his level of play. The Bears have imported receiver Allen Robinson, rookie receiver Anthony Miller, tight end Trey Burton and receiver Taylor Gabriel for Trubisky to throw to in a completely overhauled passing attack. The Bears also feature a talented pair of running backs in Jordan Howard and Tarik Cohen. On defense the big addition is Mack, who the Bears hope will wreak havoc on opposing quarterbacks for years to come.
It’s the Packers and the Bears in an NFC North grudge match on Sunday Night.
Enjoy the game everybody.
