New, comments

Welcome to SB Nation FanPulse, a survey of fans across the NFL powered by SurveyMonkey. Each week, we send 32 polls to 100+ plugged in fans from each team. Jets fans, sign up HERE to join FanPulse.

A few weeks ago, we asked Jets fans to sign up for FanPulse, a new SB Nation initiative that gives fans the chance to state their views on hot topics on their favorite teams and the league.

The results of our first survey are in. Let’s take a look.

Will the Jets win or lose in Week 1?

Jets fans seem like a very optimistic bunch. The line on this game has Detroit favored by 6.5 points so Gang Green backers think the oddsmakers are underselling their team by more than a touchdown.

How confident are you in the direction of the team?

Very confident: 28 percent

Somewhat confident: 61 percent

Meh: 10 percent

Not very confident: 1 percent

Not confident at all: 0 percent

A majority of fans are cautiously optimistic. That seems fair to me. There is a lot of buzz around the Jets after they added Sam Darnold. With that said, there still are a lot of areas of weakness on this team that require improvement before the team is ready to contend for a championship.

What is the worst NFL rule?

This question was asked not just of Jets fans but of fans across the NFL. There is no great surprise here. Bellyaching about the new helmet rule was one of the hallmarks of the 2018 NFL preseason.
