Jets vs Jaguars Game Thread

NFL: Jacksonville Jaguars at New York Jets Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

Week 4 of the NFL season has the New York Jets at something of a crossroads. After a smashing debut against the Detroit Lions that had Jets fans fired up about rookie quarterback Sam Darnold and the Jets’ season, the team and Darnold came crashing back down to earth in back to back close losses to the Miami Dolphins and the Cleveland Browns.

The schedule doesn’t get any easier from here, starting today with an away game against AFC Super Bowl contenders the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jets offensive line and Sam Darnold will have their hands full against what may be the best defense in the NFL, while the Jets defense must find a way to slow down Jaguars’ star running back Leonard Fournette. If Fournette can be shut down the Jets might have chance to steal a win against a mistake prone Blake Bortles led Jaguars team. If Fournette runs wild it would seem, on paper at least, that the Jets chances to emerge victorious will be very slim. However, as the Buffalo Bills surprising destruction of the Minnesota Vikings last week so vividly illustrated, you just never know in the NFL. Maybe the Jaguars come out flat or just have a bad day. Maybe Sam Darnold improbably lights it up against a formidable Jaguars defense. If there was no chance they wouldn’t play the games.

It’s the Jets and the Jaguars in steamy Jacksonville, Florida. Leave your comments in the section cleverly marked “comments” below. Enjoy the game everybody.
