The Jets have played the first three weeks without safety Marcus Maye who has been dealing with a mysterious foot injury. The team got some good news on Wednesday as the second year pro returned to practice.

The Jets haven’t shared much information about Maye’s injury. On Wednesday Todd Bowles still was not in a mood to elaborate on his status going forward.

On if he feels better about Martin and Marcus Maye...

They’re limited. We’ll see what they do later on this week.

Maye was indeed listed as limited on the Wednesday injury report so his status remains up in the air. Even if he does suit up Sunday, one might wonder whether the Jets will keep him on a pitch count in his first game back. In any event, this is undeniably positive news for a Jets team that needs some.

Doug Middleton has started at safety in Maye’s absence.
