Monday Night Football, Week 2. Tonight the Seattle Seahawks travel to the Windy City to take on the Chicago Bears. These two teams are both trying to avoid the dreaded 0-2 start to their seasons, from which historically only one in eight teams recovers to make the playoffs.
The Seahawks are led by superb quarterback Russell Wilson. With the slow decline of their once feared defense and the continuing terrible play of their offensive line, Wilson is nearly all that stands between the Seahawks and the NFL bottom dwellers these days. The Seahawks defense still has some holdovers from the halcyon days, like the great Earl Thomas, but the holdovers are aging and the youngsters aren’t nearly as talented.
The Bears hopes ride with second year quarterback Mitchell Trubisky, seeking to make a second year leap in his level of play. The Bears have imported receiver Allen Robinson, rookie receiver Anthony Miller, tight end Trey Burton and receiver Taylor Gabriel for Trubisky to throw to in a completely overhauled passing attack. The Bears also feature a talented pair of running backs in Jordan Howard and Tarik Cohen. On defense the big addition is Khalil Mack, who is already wrecking games for Bears opponents.
It’s the Seahawks and the Bears in an NFC matchup on Monday Night.
Enjoy the game everybody.
