Week 1 was amazing and overreaction of week 1 happens, but we all learned some major things.
The Jets have 1st round picks that are NFL level. You might think that is funny to say until you go into the recent past. Only 2 2008-2014 1st round picks are on a NFL roster. We are no longer in the dark times when it comes to 1st round picks. We have now Leonard Williams, Darron Lee, Jamal Adams, and Sam Darnold. Williams and Adams are legit good players. Lee had his best game in week 1 in 2018, and Lee had a less dreadful season in 2017 than 2016. Darnold has been in only 1 game, but Darnold looks legit.
The Jets have gotten some real free agents. Mike Maccagnan had a lot of swings and misses in 2015 and some more in 2016, but 2017 and 2018 free agents have made a big positive impact.
The Jets continuing building up the WR position is brilliant. We focus to make our WR position a strength, and it has paid off even with missing a key WR Kearse with an injury the WRs were too much for the Lions to stop.
Our depth chart is much better than expected. Even without McGuire, Kearse, Pierre-Louis, Rashard Robinson, Josh Martin, Ijalana, and Maye, we still won 48-17 on the road against the Lions.
We have very good run defense, and our interior defense linemen should be a big story.
Mike Maccagnan made 3 big trades in 2018, and two have made a big splash in week 1. The trades that I am referring to are the Darnold trade and Henry Anderson trade.
Can't wait for week 2 for the home opener against Miami.
