Our Jets roster countdown now moves onto Mych Thomas.
Name: Mych Thomas
Number: 66
Year with Jets: 1st
Projected Role: Competing for practice squad spot as a defensive lineman
His 2017: Thomas posted 41 tackles and a sack in his final college season at Texas Tech. The 325 pounder went undrafted and was signed by the Jets as a free agent.
2018 will be a success if: Thomas makes the practice squad and sticks. He is a developmental nose tackle. The odds are against him making much of an impact, but it will probably come in the future if it ever happens.
Odds of making the roster: There aren’t many open roster spots available for competition with Leonard Williams, Steve McLendon, Henry Anderson, Nathan Shepherd, and Mike Pennel all probably locks to make the final 53. The best bet for a player like Thomas is probably the practice squad. For the active roster he is a Longshot (less than 25%).
