His 2017: Robinson began the season as a starting cornerback for the 49ers but was benched around halfway through the season as he lead the league at one point with 10 penalties. In a surprising move, the Jets traded a fifth round pick at the trade deadline to acquire him. His early days with the Jets were less than memorable. He was benched during a brutal debut against the Chiefs and was rarely heard from after.
2018 will be a success if: Robinson can stop grabbing and start playing better in coverage.
Odds of making the roster: The early returns on this trade have been ugly. In addition to his poor on field performance, Robinson is suspended the first four weeks of the season after a drug related arrest in the offseason. The strongest point in his favor might be the Jets not wanting to admit failure so quickly on a trade. I’ll call him 50/50.
