His 2017: Burris entered 2017 with high hopes. He was given one of the top three cornerback jobs out of training camp. It took him two weeks for Burris to play himself out of that role. His playing time was reduced after a brutal Week 2 performance at Oakland. A few injuries at various points of the season got him increased playing time, but the results were uneven. That includes an ugly season finale where he allowed 81 yards on 5 catches according to PFF.
2018 will be a success if: Burris wins the dime back job and can fill in capably when called upon. He has to start making something of himself.
Odds of making the roster: Burris’ usage suggests the Jets might be souring on him. So do his struggles from a year ago. If I’m being generous, I could say he’s 50/50.
