His 2017: Jenkins stepped into a starting role and did solid work as an edge setter against the run game. PFF credited him with 17 stops against the run, which are tackles resulting in a failed play for the offense.

2018 will be a success if: Jenkins starts to show more as a pass rusher. While Jenkins developed into a quality run defender in his second season, he had only 3 sacks. I don’t think he’ll ever be the top pass rusher on a championship level defense. A boom scenario for him seems like it might be an 8 sack season. It would be nice to see him get closer to that 8 sack total, though.
