Frankie Luvu is next up in our Jets roster countdown.
Name: Frankie Luvu
Number: 59
Year with Jets: 1st
Projected Role: Competing for a roster spot as a depth linebacker and special teamer; practice squad candidate
His 2017: Luvu was an Honorable Mention All Pac 12 selection in his final season at Washington State with 6.5 sacks and 12 tackles for a loss. The Jets signed him as an undrafted free agent.
2018 will be a success if: Luvu sticks on the roster or practice squad and shows progress in developing his game. He seems a bit undersized to play the edge, which is his college position, but the Jets are trying him out there. The team lacks anything proven at that spot, but I wouldn’t count on an undrafted rookie to have any sort of impact. Luvu will probably need to flash on special teams to make the team.
Odds of making the roster: There has been a bit of buzz surrounding Luvu so I will put him a step above most undrafted rookies and call it Unlikely (25-50%).
