Our Jets roster countdown moves on to Alex Balducci.

Projected Role: Candidate for offensive line depth and practice squad

His 2017: Balducci was claimed off waivers by the Jets from San Francisco during the offseason. He spent training camp and the preseason with the team but was waived after the final preseason game. After clearing waivers, he signed on with Washington’s practice squad. He lasted in the Redskins organization until two weeks ago when he was picked up by the Jets.

2018 will be a success if: Balducci’s career starts to show some progress and development. He still has some practice squad eligibility but only for this year. At 24 years old he is close to the end of the period where he can considered a developmental prospect. He has to get moving soon.

Odds of making the roster: The Jets don’t have a ton of depth, but I get the sense there are a number of linemen they prefer to Balducci. I say he is a Longshot (less than 25%).
