Ian Rapoport says Jets edge rusher Lorenzo Mauldin will miss another week with a hamstring injury.
Another injury update: #Jets OLB Lorenzo Mauldin is out another week with a hamstring injury. Will end up missing the first 2 preseason games as he battles for a roster spot. https://t.co/3QS0BI21gN

Over the weekend, Manish Mehta indicated the Jets are getting impatient, and an injury settlement with Mauldin is possible in the weeks to come.
Something to monitor: #Jets OLB Lorenzo Mauldin, who's dealing with leg issue that kept him out of game Friday, is on thin ice. Could be cut sooner rather than later, per sources. If he can't get healthy, don't rule out injury settlement. 2015 3rd rounder has been disappointment pic.twitter.com/ObXKgAm83M

Mauldin had a relatively promising rookie season in a situational role in 2015, but it has been all downhill from that. He played his way out of a potential starting role in the preseason two years ago and never played his way back into it. His 2017 was lost to injury, and now this. This training camp was in many ways Mauldin’s last chance to make something of his Jets career, but that opportunity seems to be slipping away.
The Jets lack anything proven off the edge. It, however, appears increasingly likely that Mauldin will still fail to make the team and extend his stay with the Jets for a fourth season.
