Jets head coach Todd Bowles provided the following injury updates after the team’s first preseason game last night.
Isaiah Crowell
Crowell left the game after his touchdown reception in the first half. It appeared he took a shot to the head as he was fighting for the goal line.
On whether Isaiah Crowell has a concussion…
He’s getting tested for one.
Chris Herndon
I thought I saw Herndon hobble at bit while attended Wednesday’s practice, the final practice before the preseason opener. It wasn’t clear at the time how serious it was. Apparently it was serious enough to make him miss the preseason opener.
On Chris Herndon not playing…
He has a bruise. He left the game. We had a couple of guys leave the game with some nicks and bruises that we didn’t want to put back in there.
On Herndon not being on the sideline…
No. He left. He was out. He got a couple of bruises in practice and we held him out.
Buster Skrine
Skrine left the game after an apparent injury covering a kickoff.
On the injury to CB Buster Skrine…
He banged his shoulder up a little bit on the kickoff play. He has to get in better position to tackle. He went low and the other guy went high. He ended up on the wrong side of it.
