Sam Darnold was in practice Monday for the Jets, but the starting right tackle did not suit up.
Non-Darnold update: Brandon Shell not practicing. Might have tweaked something #Jets

Todd Bowles didn’t exactly shed much light on the situation after practice.
On Brandon Shell being possibly hurt...
He probably got knicked up, I’ll check when I go inside.
If there’s a silver lining here, it’s that the Jets probably would have given us more if there was anything to be worried about.
We have more than a month until the start of the regular season so there is plenty of time to get healed up. There clearly isn’t any reason to rush anybody onto the field just a few days into training camp. This is simply worth noting and monitoring going forward.
Shell is in his third NFL season and entering his second year as the starting right tackle for the Jets. The team picked him in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft.
