Jets CB Rashard Robinson has been suspended four games for violating the league's substance-abuse policy, the team announced. Stems from December arrest in which he allegedly possessed edible marijuana. #Jets

The Jets acquired Robinson in a surprising move for a fifth round pick at last year’s trade deadline. It felt like a curious decision to me at the time because Robinson had little success in his first two NFL seasons with the 49ers. San Francisco was quick to give up on the 2014 fourth rounder.
Robinson had a brutal debut with the Jets against the Chiefs, which led to an in-game benching. He only played two defensive snaps the rest of the season.
The offseason signings of Trumaine Johnson and Morris Claiborne left his role with the Jets up in the air. This suspension probably won’t help his status with the team any.
Robinson is eligible to participate fully in training camp and preseason. His suspension begins at the start of the regular season.
