The Jets partially announced their training camp schedule today. The team will report on Thursday July 26 and break camp on Wednesday August 22 prior to the third preseason game against the New York Giants.
Five practices will be open to fans in the local area. The first is limited to Jets Club and PSL season ticket holders on Saturday July 28.
The Jets will have practices open to the general public at the team facility on Sunday July 29, Saturday August 18, and Sunday August 19.
The team will also hold its annual Green and White Practice Scrimmage on Saturday August 4 at Rutgers University. Usually it is at MetLife Stadium so that is worth noting.
Tickets are required for admission, but they are free. You can click here for more information.
Here are some of the perks of the local practices from the team:
For Open Practices, fans can take advantage of bleachers for enhanced viewing (up to 1,000 fans), a shuttle service to and from the parking lot, water stations close to the field, cooling zones, a food court provided by Village Supermarkets and a fan zone fully equipped with family-friendly activities. Fans will also enjoy Training Camp staples including Jets Fest, featuring skills challenges, music, inflatable rides, virtual reality and the Jets Shop tent filled with new merchandise for the 2018 season.
Season Ticket Holders are encouraged to bring their Jets Rewards cards and earn 250 bonus points when attending any open practice date. In addition to the 250 Jets Rewards points that Season Ticket Holders will receive, there will also be a discount on merchandise. Club/PSL Holders will receive a 25% discount while Non-PSL Holders will receive a 15% discount.
The biggest reason the Jets have so few training camp practices open to the public in the local area is the three joint practices they will conduct with the Washington Redskins in Richmond, Virginia. Those practices will take place on Sunday August 12, Monday August 13, and Tuesday August 14. These three practices are also open to the public should you find yourself in the Richmond area.
