The Jets begin the fifth and final part of their offseason program on Tuesday.
There have been three phases of the program for the veterans and a minicamp for rookies. Tomorrow begins the finale, a three day veteran minicamp.
The biggest difference between the minicamp and other parts of the offseason program might be the fact it is mandatory. The rest of the offseason program is voluntary for veterans. Most of them show up for the early phases anyway, but this is the one part where players can actually be fined for not showing up. That is part of the collective bargaining agreement.
As with the rest of the offseason, there are no pads and hitting. With that in mind, it is difficult to say this minicamp will have much meaning. It certainly should not lead to a major change in how you view a player.
Still, these are the last morsels of football news any of us will get until training camp so enjoy these next few days.
