I present a new video to you today. Earlier in the week, I showed one play from Sam Darnold in college that was an impressive display of his ability to process information.
Today I will show you a play Darnold ran at USC ran that I think he might end up running again with the Jets. It is a run-pass option. If you need a refresher on run-pass options, I did a brief video explaining some of their elements a few months ago.
Last year the Jets had a play similar to the one Darnold ran at USC so we will explore that. While the team does have a different offensive coordinator in 2018, Jeremy Bates was part of the 2017 coaching staff and reportedly had a hand in the way the offense ran so I wouldn’t be surprised to see something like this remain part of the Jets offense with Darnold in the mix.
