NY Jets podcast: The plan to land Darnold

NFL: New York Jets-Rookie Minicamp Noah K. Murray-USA TODAY Sports

If you have not read Albert Breer’s excellent article from this week about the Jets’ multi-year pursuit of Sam Darnold, I cannot recommend it highly enough. It was an incredibly detailed look at the inner workings of the Jets’ front office as they tried to find a franchise quarterback. I think it is one of the best sports articles of the year.

Over the last few days, I have been thinking a lot about how the Jets handled their scouting this year. The Breer article provided us with a lot of information. I thought Mike Maccagnan and company came out looking great.

There were several positives I took from the plan. That is the topic of today’s podcast. It is no secret that this front office has had its ups and downs over the last four years. There were several elements of the Darnold plan, however, that should leave Jets fans feeling good about the direction of the organization and the people in the front office.
