Less than two weeks ago, we found out the Jets were losing their director of college scouting, Matt Bazirgan, who took a job with the Houston Texans.
Having lost Bazirgan to Houston, the Jets found his replacement from the Texans.

Carr was let go by the Texans shortly after the NFL Draft. Houston hired a new general manager this offseason, and lower level front office moves tend to wait until after the Draft. The new guy typically wants to bring in his own people.
Jets general manager Mike Maccagnan likely has a lot of familiarity and comfort with Carr. Carr was actually promoted to Maccagnan’s old job as Texans director of college scouting in 2015 after Maccagnan was hired as Jets general manager.
Before becoming Houston’s director of college scouting, he had previously worked as a scout. Prior to joining the Texans organization, he worked at the college level as a coach.
