It looks like the Jets are losing backup defensive end Kony Ealy to the Cowboys in free agency.
The Cowboys are signing former Jets DE Kony Ealy to a one-year deal, per league source.

Ealy was acquired by the Jets off waivers from New England late in the 2017 preseason. The Patriots had acquired him in a trade from Carolina early in 2017. Ealy was originally a second round pick by the Panthers in 2014.
He had 1 sack, 1 interception, and 9 passes defensed for the Jets in 2017.
Would I have taken Ealy back on a cheap, one year deal? Sure. Would I have been excited if the Jets had re-signed him? Not really. Am I devastated to see him leave? No. By the standards of depth pieces, he is fine but nothing special. Ealy’s return or departure was never going to move the needle a whole lot for the Jets. At the end of the day, we are talking about an edge rusher who had a single sack last year and has 15 in four NFL seasons.
