The Jets have picked Sam Darnold with the third overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.

It was a roundabout path to land Darnold, but the quarterback and the Jets have been linked for over a year. There were plenty of theories about the Jets tanking the 2017 season to try and get Darnold who entered the year widely expected to eventually become the top pick in the Draft. The Jets were a little bit better than people expected, Darnold slightly underachieved, and Gang Green made a trade to move up to the third overall pick.

Darnold’s two year career saw him complete 64.9% of his attempts with 57 touchdowns and 22 interceptions. He led USC to a Rose Bowl win in his first season as a starter and a Pac 12 conference title as a sophomore.

After such an aggressive move, have the Jets at long last found their franchise quarterback?
