Positions are not equal in the NFL. Some are substantially more valuable than others.
On the defensive side of the ball, this value is to a certain extent determined by scheme. One position might be very important in one system and not as important in a different system.
Positional value matters as a front office looks to put together a roster. It sometimes dictates what resources a team dedicates to a certain position.
