The Jets no longer have 17 wide receivers on their roster. They have announced four players have been waived, including one at receiver.
WR Daniel Williams
RB Jeremy Langford
RB Jahad Thomas
QB Joel Stave
This is basic offseason roster reshuffling. None of these four stood much of a chance of ultimately making the team. Stave was always the longest of longshots, and the team’s quarterback moves don’t even leave a potential training camp slot for him. Williams is the first wide receiver to go, but he probably will not be the last to go before training camp starts. There probably are still too many bodies at that one position to bring to camp.
We will see whether any signings are imminent to replace these guys on the roster. The Jets will also be selecting players in the upcoming NFL Draft and signing undrafted free agents after to fill out the remaining spots on their roster.
