Today is the final day of the 2018 NFL Scouting Combine. For whatever reason, the league does not wrap up its annual event on the weekend. There is a crossover into Monday.
All that remains are for the defensive backs to get onto the field for drills. Then this phase of Draft season will be in the books.
This is a critical phase of the process. I view the Draft process in stages. First is the season, where players put resumes on film. Then come the all-star games where they get tested against top competition. Now we have the Combine, which provides standardized physical measurements. After this we have things like pro days and visits, but those might be less important to the process. Today is arguably the last big day on the calendar before the Draft.
