Todd Bowles expects Quincy Enunwa to be “highly competitive” in training camp

Jets head coach Todd Bowles provided an update on Quincy Enunwa Tuesday to the media at league meetings. The starting wide receiver missed all of 2017 with a neck injury he sustained in a training camp practice.

“Hopefully he can run around and we can see him just catch the football,” head coach Todd Bowles told reporters Tuesday at the Annual League Meetings. “It’s still too early to tell. He feels great, but feeling great and running around feeling great are two different things. We expect him to be highly competitive in training camp and we’ll see about the spring.”

While Enunwa’s ability to participate in the offseason program seems to be up in the air, it certainly sounds like Bowles is optimistic about training camp.

The Jets offered a second round tender to Enunwa, a restricted free agent. That type of offer seemed to indicate the Jets felt good about his recovery.
