The big name free agents are largely off the board, but the Jets continued filling out their roster with depth pieces on Monday.
Xavier Cooper, who played the second half of 2017 with the Jets, was re-signed. Initially set to become a restricted free agent, Cooper was not tendered by the Jets. This made him an unrestricted free agent and free to talk with any team. He chose to stay in New York, however, which could come with a nice role. Cooper got a bunch of playing time down the stretch for a deactivated Muhammad Wilkerson.
The Jets also signed Brandon Copeland. Copeland profiles as an edge guy who will need to impress in training camp to make the roster. He was purely a fill out the roster type of signing.
News also broke that the Jets are showing interest in a few free agent wide receivers. Charles Johnson has already visited, while Terrelle Pryor will be coming.
