We mentioned yesterday that Jets general manager Mike Maccagnan visited Heisman Trophy winner Baker Mayfield’s pro day on Wednesday. Maccagnan went West instead of East from Oklahoma. He was at UCLA quarterback prospect Josh Rosen’s pro day on Thursday.

This certainly doesn’t make it a lock the Jets will pick Rosen if he is available at six. The pro day is part of the evaluation process. With that said, the general manager does not go to many pro days in person. Most of these are delegated to lower level staff.
While I would expect to see Maccagnan there for the pro days for most if not all of the big name quarterbacks, his attendance at UCLA yesterday is still worth noting. The fact that he took time in the middle of the busiest week of free agency to go across the country and see Rosen shows how serious the Jets are about the prospect.
