Partial details of offensive lineman Spencer Long’s Jets contract came out today.
C Spencer Long's agreement with the #Jets: Four years, $28 million, per source. He can earn another $2 million with PT incentives. #Jets

The annual value puts Long around 13th highest in the league at the center position. That is before Ryan Jensen signs for presumably more money.
I wish I could provide better analysis, but I am still in wait and see mode on this one. This doesn’t strike me as an outrageously bad or outrageously good deal at this time.
Long cannot help but be an upgrade over Wesley Johnson and quite possibly a substantial one. He also comes with some question marks about durability along with the length of his track record of quality play. This deal seems like a calculated risk to me at this time.
We will have to see a more detailed breakdown of the contract structure and what Jensen gets to have a better idea.
What are your thoughts about this deal for the Jets?
