Lost in all of the free agency craziness, Jets general manager Mike Maccagnan was spotted attending the pro day of Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield on Wednesday.

Mayfield, the Heisman Trophy winner, is a consensus first round prospect and a possibility for the Jets with the sixth pick of the NFL Draft.
Maccagnan doesn’t attend many pro days so this is notable. Most of them get delegated to scouts and/or coaches. Granted, this is one of the few I would have expected him to attend. He is going to be there for the ones with top end quarterback prospects and schools loaded with talent.
That said, this is a very busy time of the year for Maccagnan. The fact he was willing to take time out of an early day of free agency to scout Mayfield probably says something about the Jets’ level of interest in the Heisman Trophy winning signal caller.
