Today is the official start of free agency as the new league year begins in the NFL at 4:00 p.m. Eastern. As we know, however, moves began well before that.
The Jets have been active in the legal tampering period. After finding out they lost the Kirk Cousins sweepstakes to Minnesota yesterday, they agreed to deals with two quarterbacks, Teddy Bridgewater and Josh McCown. They also struck deals with linebacker Avery Williams, running back Isaiah Crowell, and cornerback Trumaine Johnson.
We don’t know the exact terms and structure of every deal, but the Jets still have tens of millions of dollars in cap space. Presumably the team is not done yet in free agency, but it will be interesting to see how much money Mike Maccagnan leaves in reserve.
The GGN Twitter Widget is posted below to provide you updates through the day. If there was ever a widget free agency, it would be worth Trumaine Johnson money.
