Ian Rapoport reports the Jets will sign linebacker Avery Williamson.
The #Jets are expected to sign #Titans FA LB Avery Williamson, source said. A perfect fit for a 3-4 ILB.

Williamson was a fifth round pick of the Titans in 2014. He spent all four years of his career in Tennessee, putting together a quality 2017 season.
This signing presumably means the end of Demario Davis’ time with the Jets. Williams plays the same position as the free agent. Three years younger, he has youth on his side.
As always, we await the details of the contract to assess the quality of this move. While Williamson does struggle in coverage, he has a solid reputation as a run stopper, making him a potentially nice fit for the Davis/Harris role in the Jets’ defensive front.
Williamson is the fifth player with whom the Jets have agreed to terms with on Wednesday after Josh McCown, Isaiah Crowell, Trumaine Johnson, and Teddy Bridgewater. The team still has a lot of cap space to spend as well.
