Report: Jets Will Turn Attention To Teddy Bridgewater

NFL: NFC Divisional Playoff-New Orleans Saints at Minnesota Vikings Brad Rempel-USA TODAY Sports

After it was reported that the Minnesota Vikings were set to win the race for Kirk Cousins, a report surfaced from ESPN’s Dianna Russini that the New York Jets would turn their attention to Teddy Bridgewater:

After reportedly missing out on Cousins, it was widely expected that the Jets would turn to Teddy Bridgewater or Josh McCown, maybe even both.

Bridgewater is an interesting case. He hasn’t played meaningful football since 2015, but he did complete 65.3% of his passes that year for 3,231 yards, with 14 touchdowns to 9 interceptions, while also rushing for 192 yards and 3 scores.

We reported yesterday Bridgewater was the fall-back option, and according to the team source who spoke to Dianna Russini, that’s certainly the case. Like John mentioned, it’s hard to get a good handle on this due to the knee injuries that have kept Teddy off the field for nearly 2 years. While he put up some decent performances, he hardly lit it up, which you can put down to him or the offensive system that he was in.

Unfortunately it’s time for the Jets to start looking at the likes of Teddy and Josh, while planning to select a QB high in next months draft.
