Le’Veon Bell says $60 million won’t be enough to lure him to Jets

NFL: Pro Bowl-AFC Practice Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell is one of the top free agents to be in the NFL. With the Jets owning a lot of cap space heading into free agency, some might think of them as a suitor for the star back. Bell might have other ideas, though. He had the following to say at the suggestion the Jets could give him $60 million.

Bell was a Jets fan before entering the NFL so some have thought he might consider coming to New York. One tweet over a month before the start of free agency does not necessarily guarantee anything. If Bell makes it to free agency, he will be presented with a number of offers. If the Jets make him the best one, he might consider it. With that said, no running back has a contract with a value of more than $41.25 million so it suggests the Jets are not at the top of his list.

This all could become moot anyway if the Steelers franchise Bell and/or agree to a long-term deal with him before the start of free agency.
