Week 14 Late Games Open Thread

Week 14 of the 2018 NFL season continues with a slate of five late afternoon games.

Four games are on tap on the west coast. Not a lot of great matchups here. Perhaps the best west coast game pits the 5-7 Cincinnati Bengals against the 9-3 Los Angeles Chargers in Los Angeles. At least both of those teams still have playoff hopes. Elsewhere on the west coast the 6-6 Denver Broncos visit the hapless 2-10 San Francisco 49ers, the 4-8 Detroit Lions take on the 3-9 Arizona Cardinals, and the 7-4-1 Pittsburgh Steelers face off against the 2-10 Oakland Raiders. Not a lot of marquee games there. The most interesting aspect to those west coast games for Jets fans might be the impact they have on the Jets’ 2019 draft placement. In the only late game not taking place on the west coast, the 6-6 Philadelphia Eagles go up against the 7-5 Dallas Cowboys in a battle for first place in the NFC East. That appears to be the best game of the late games slate.
