Week 14 of the NFL season has the 3-9 New York Jets suffering through a six game losing streak, one of the longer losing streaks in team history. With their loss to the Tennessee Titans, along with the Titans’ subsequent win over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday Night Football, the Jets playoff hopes have been mathematically extinguished, making the rest of the season interesting for the fans mostly for the development of Sam Darnold. Darnold faces a stiff test this week against one of the best defenses in the NFL.
The Jets face off against the 4-8 Buffalo Bills, a team that annihilated the Jets, 41-10, just a few weeks ago. Neither Sam Darnold nor Bills rookie quarterback Josh Allen played in that game. Today the Jets look for revenge, and both of the rookie quarterbacks are healthy and expected to play, the first of what fans for both teams hope will be a long line of future matchups. Allen has been a dual threat quarterback of late, rushing for an astounding total of 234 yards the last two games. That adds an extra dimension to the Bills’ offense and an extra challenge to the Jets defense, already down a couple of starters in the injured Marcus Maye and the suspended Darron Lee.
It’s the Jets and the Bills in an AFC East grudge match without much juice. Leave your comments in the section cleverly marked “comments” below. Enjoy the game everybody.
