The Jets’ coaching search is underway. The team has reached out to the Chiefs to request an interview with offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy according to Ian Rapoport.
Source: The #Jets have put in a request to interview #Chiefs OC Eric Bieniemy. Makes a lot of sense, given his success and how the Andy Reid tree has done.

The 49 year old Bieniemy took over as Chiefs offensive coordinator this year. Kansas City led the league in yardage and points while running one of the most creatively schemed offenses in recent memory. Second year quarterback Patrick Mahomes had an MVP caliber season in the scheme.
There are plenty of questions about Bieniemy. For starters, he isn’t very experienced. This was his first year as an NFL coordinator, and he only had two seasons as a college coordinator. There are also questions about how much credit he should get for Kansas City’s offensive success. The Chiefs have a ton of talent on their offense, and Bieniemy works under Andy Reid, who does a lot of the heavy lifting designing the scheme.
Still, the success of the Chiefs this year has made him a candidate who interests teams looking for a head coach.
