The first half of the New York Jets game against the New England Patriots is in the books, and the Jets trail the Patriots 21 - 3.
The Jets and the Patriots exchanged possessions to open the game with neither team scoring. The Patriots then went to work on their second drive, moving methodically down the field for a touchdown with little resistance from a depleted Jets defense. The Jets answered immediately with a long field goal drive of their own to make the score 7 - 3, Patriots as the first quarter ended.
In the second quarter the Patriots immediately went on another long touchdown drive, then stripped Elijah McGuire of the ball on the Jets next drive and recovered at the Jets eight yard line. The Patriots eventually punched it in for a third touchdown, with the aid of a terrible drive-extending roughing the passer penalty on Iron Man Anderson, and the rout was on with the score Patriots 21, Jets 3.
Sam Darnold began to heat up as he drove the Jets the length of the field on the next Jets possession before falling short on 4th and three at the Patriots five yard line and the Jets dishearteningly came away scoreless.
We go into the second half with the Jets trailing 21 - 3 in the final Jets game of the 2018 season.
Enjoy the second half everyone.
