The Jets’ ugly loss in Sunday did allow the team to improve its positioning in the 2019 NFL Draft. If the season ended today, the Jets would own the third pick.
The current Draft order is below for your reading pleasure.
- San Francisco 49ers (2-10)
- Oakland Raiders (2-10)
- New York Jets (3-9)
- Arizona Cardinals (3-9)
- Detroit Lions (4-8)
- Atlanta Falcons (4-8)
- New York Giants (4-8)
- Buffalo Bills (4-8)
- Jacksonville Jaguars (4-8)
- Green Bay Packers (4-7-1)
The Jets were in the fourth slot a week ago, but Arizona’s win at Green Bay combined with Sunday’s catastrophe in Nashville were enough to slide them up one slot. The 49ers and the Raiders won’t be easy to catch if the Jets are to move up, but I don’t think anybody could rule it out. At this point 3-13 looks like a real possibility.
The final four opponents of the Jets’ season are the Bills, the Titans, the Packers, and the Patriots.
