It’s been a rough season of Jets football, so to lighten the mood, a former Jet joined me on the show to discuss some of the brighter moments of Jets history - Mike DeVito! DeVito played 88 games with the Jets from 2007 to 2012, and finished his career playing in Kansas City from 2013 until his retirement following the 2015 season. We had a ton of fun discussing some of the highlights of his tenure in New York.
Some topics discussed:
- Breaking into the NFL as an undrafted free agent out of Maine
- Earning playing time under Eric Mangini
- The awe of playing with Brett Favre
- The stark differences between the cultures of Mangini and Rex Ryan
- Some of the best moments from the 2009-10 playoffs
- Competing against the amazing Jets offensive line of Ferguson, Faneca, Mangold, Moore, and Woody
- Sam Darnold and the future of the Jets
- Playing with Alex Smith and under Andy Reid, and how they have been so great for Patrick Mahomes
- And plenty more!
