The 2018 NFL season begins to wind down with Week 16 Saturday games. In the late game the Baltimore Ravens travel across the country as they head to the road against the Los Angeles Chargers.
The 8-6 Ravens come into this game in a three way tie for the sixth and final AFC playoff seed. The Ravens are hot, winners of four of their last five games. Their recent surge coincides with exciting rookie quarterback Lamar Jackson taking over as the starter for the Ravens. The Ravens sport the NFL’s number one defense and number two rushing offense, a combination that keeps them in almost every game. A loss in this game would be devastating to the Ravens’ playoff hopes.
The 11-3 Chargers come into the game tied for the best record in the AFC, yet they are currently looking at a fifth seed and a road playoff game because they are in second place, behind the Kansas City Chiefs, in their own division. The red hot Chargers come into the game winners of 10 of their last 11 games. With a well balanced team featuring top ten units on both offense and defense the Chargers are a challenge for any team in the NFL. A loss to the Ravens would all but extinguish the Chargers’ hopes for the number one seed in the AFC and home field advantage throughout the playoffs.
It’s the Ravens and the Chargers in a game with major playoff implications for both teams. Enjoy the game everybody. Use this thread to comment on the game in the section cleverly marked “comments” below.
