Titans vs Redskins Game Thread

The 2018 NFL season begins to wind down with Week 16 Saturday games. In the early game the Washington Redskins travel down to Music City as they head to the road against the Tennessee Titans.

The 7-7 Redskins come into this game still in the hunt for a wild card playoff berth, despite losing five of their last seven games. The Redskins have been devastated by injuries this year, leading to their late season collapse. A ridiculous 22 Redskins have been placed on the injured reserve list, and another six are out for this game. The Redskins are down to a fourth string quarterback, Josh Johnson, who was signed off the street recently, and who never was more than a backup in the NFL. Last week the 32 year old Johnson led the Redskins to an improbable victory against the Jacksonville Jaguars in his first NFL start since 2011. It would be quite the Cinderella story if he could lead this banged up Redskins team to a playoff berth, starting with a win today against the Titans.

The 8-6 Titans come into this game surging, winners of three straight games at just the right time for a playoff push. The Titans offense has struggled all year, but the Titans defense has been great lately, having given up a total of just nine points in the last two games combined. Defense like that will keep the Titans close against anyone. Against a banged up Redskins team featuring a fourth string quarterback, the Titans defense just might be enough to win the game no matter how much the Titans offense struggles.

It’s the Redskins and the Titans in a clash of two offensively challenged teams desperately trying to stay in line for a spot in the NFL playoffs. Enjoy the game everybody. Use this thread to comment on the game in the section cleverly marked “comments” below.
