The New York Jets have placed right tackle Brandon Shell and outside linebacker Jeremiah Attaochu on the injured reserve list, ending their 2018 NFL seasons. Shell has a knee injury that will likely require surgery and Attaochu is suffering from a concussion.
The Jets replaced Shell and Attaochu on the roster by claiming linebacker Emmanuel Lamur off waivers from the Oakland Raiders and promoting linebacker Anthony Wint from the practice squad.
Emmanuel Lamur is a 29 year old, 6’ 4”, 245 pound linebacker out of Kansas State University. Lamur went undrafted in 2012 and was signed as an undrafted free agent after the 2012 NFL draft by the Cincinnati Bengals. Lamur was with the Bengals organization for four years, then spent two years with the Minnesota Vikings before moving on to the Oakland Raiders for the 2018 season. The Raiders waived Lamur after he appeared in nine games this season, starting four. Lamur’s best season in the NFL came in 2014, when he registered 97 tackles, seven passes defended and two interceptions with the Bengals. For his career Lamur has totaled 193 tackles, half a sack, two interceptions, two fumble recoveries and 12 passes defended.
Anthony Wint is a 23 year old, 6’ 0”, 225 pound linebacker out of Florida International University. Wint went undrafted in 2018 and signed with the Jets as an undrafted free agent following a rookie minicamp tryout. In the preseason Wint was productive, recording 12 tackles, before he was cut prior to the start of the 2018 regular season. Wint was subsequently signed to the Jets practice squad, where he has spent the 2018 NFL season until now. At Florida International Wint totaled 336 tackles, 20.5 for loss, five passes defended and three forced fumbles in 45 games.
