Sunday Night Football, Week 13. In the best game of the week, the 8-3 Los Angeles Chargers travel east to take on the 7-3-1 Pittsburgh Steelers in a game between two AFC teams with Super Bowl aspirations.
The Los Angeles Chargers come into the game hot, winners of seven of their last eight contests. The Chargers are a well balanced team with both their offense and their defense ranking in the top 10 in the NFL in yards and points. The Chargers are led by star quarterback Philip Rivers, having another outstanding season at the age of 37. Rivers is looking to finally get the Super Bowl ring that has eluded him in what is otherwise a Hall of Fame worthy career.
The Pittsburgh Steelers feature a Hall of Fame worthy quarterback of their own in Ben Roethlisberger. The Steelers are coming off a loss last week to the Denver Broncos, their first loss in seven games. The Steelers have shown more vulnerability at home than usual this year, already having dropped two of five home games. Like the Chargers, the Steelers are a well balanced team, featuring an offense and a defense ranking in the top 12 in both yards and points.
Both these teams need a win here to keep pace for a crucial potential first round bye in the AFC.
It’s the Chargers and the Steelers in a great matchup with major playoff implications for both teams on Sunday Night Football.
Enjoy the game everybody.
