Boca Raton Bowl: Northern Illinois Vs. UAB (12/17, 7:00 PM EST, ESPN)
Edge, Sutton Smith, Northern Illinois (#15)
Smith is an undersized edge rusher, but damn is he productive. He is like trying to block a wet bar of soap. He consistently finds a way to squeak past tackles.
T/G, Max Scharping, Northern Illinois (#73)
Max is a monster of a man, and is very hard to bull rush. With that said, he doesn’t move great, and he doesn’t get the push you would expect in the run game.
LBer, Chris Woolbright, UAB (#27)
Chris is an athletic LBer with very good size. He checks all the boxes with coverage, blitzing and range. He just needs to show it against better competition.
Frisco Bowl: Ohio Vs. San Diego State (12/18, 8:00 PM EST, ESPN)
T/G, Joe Lowery, Ohio (#65)
Lowery is a mountain, standing at 6’7”. He can stand to gain some weight and strength to hold off NFL quality bull rushes. His mechanics need work as well.
G, Joe Anderson, Ohio (#63)
The 2nd Joe along the Ohio O-line isn’t much shorter than the 1st. With his size, he could lose leverage to powerful, squatty defenders.
LB, Kyahva Tezino, San Diego State (#44)
Kyahva has been the money man for San Diego State. He zips around the field and does everything. He is most effective at blitzing.
Gasparilla Bowl: Marshall Vs. South Florida (12/19, 8:00 PM EST, ESPN)
OT, Marcus Norman, South Florida (#77)
Norman has been stout for the Bulls. He will need to work on his technique at the next level, but he has enough of a baseline to work off of.
WR, Tyre Brady, Marshall (#8)
Brady has some good size at 6’3” and has the production to go with it. He has surpassed 900 yards and 8 TDs twice in the last 3 years. He has done this as a deep threat.
RB, Jordan Cronkrite, South Florida (#2)
Cronkrite got his first opportunity to carry the load this year, and he didn’t disappoint. I think he should go back for his senior year and work on cuts and vision.
TE, Mitchell Wilcox, South Florida (#89)
Wilcox is a very smooth and quick receiver. He is in and out of breaks pretty effortlessly. This will do wonders at the next level to get separation.
Bahamas Bowl: Toledo Vs. Florida International (12/21, 12:30 PM EST, ESPN)
WR, Cody Thompson, Toledo (#25)
Thompson will be in the slot at the next level. He runs very crisp routes and has a 2nd gear to get separation. He led the rockets in receiving scores
Potato Bowl: Western Michigan Vs. BYU (12/21, 4:00 PM EST, ESPN)
OT/OG, Ului Lapuaho, BYU (#73)
Ului has had some injury concerns in the past, but has come back healthy and played all 12 games this year. He towers over the competition at 6’7.” I am not sure where he plays at the next level.
LB, Sione Takitaki, BYU (#16)
Sione is a versatile LBer, who does well in coverage. He has decent range and the ability to disengage with blockers.
