Thursday Night Football, Week 15. Tonight the Los Angeles Chargers travel east to take on the Kansas City Chiefs in an AFC West showdown.

This is as good as it gets; two of the four teams with the best records in the NFL facing off, with the Chargers looking to avenge an opening day loss to the Chiefs.

The 10-3 Los Angeles Chargers come into the game red hot, having won nine of their last ten games. This is a huge game for them, as any chance of winning the division and avoiding a wild card game in the playoffs will evaporate if they lose tonight. The Chargers are a well balanced team, ranking among the top quartile of NFL teams on both offensse and defense.

The 11-2 Kansas City Chiefs come into this game winners of six of their last seven games and currently sitting in the number one seed for the AFC playoffs. The Chiefs boast the NFL’s top rated offense, but one of the worst (30th in yards allowed, 28th in points) defenses. The Chiefs have had a tendency to get involved in a lot of close shootouts, as nobody can stop their offense, and they can’t stop anybody’s offense.

It’s the old guard quarterback in Philip Rivers against the new age gunslinger in Patrick Mahomes II. It’s the Chargers and the Chiefs and it’s must see TV for football fans everywhere. Grab your popcorn and get ready for some fireworks in this potential barn burner of a division rivalry game on Thursday Night Football.

Enjoy the game everybody.
