On the Jets performance against the Patriots:
The good: A couple dudes who weren’t terrible. The bad: Everything else, this team sucks
-Jeremy J. Jackson
On the Jets performance against the Patriots:
So to reiterate
The defense was bad. Oline cant pass protect, when we decide to throw the ball 50 times in the second half. Coaching cant make ingame adjustments. But Adams was good, Jason Myers was good (“he a kicker”, yea we know), and herdon had a nice game. Life of a Jet Fan

On Macc’s PR skills:
Macc is winning the PR wars. He is pretty good at that. Now if only his job was in the PR department …
-MacGregor Wells
On how Macc always has an excuse for his performance as GM:
Bingo
As Smack said in the previous thread, we know Maccagnan will make a bunch of overpriced FA signings and waste the majority of our draft picks. With a new HC, he’ll be able to make yet another excuse as to why this team isn’t performing up to acceptable standards. First it was a Woody-mandated spending spree that delayed the much-needed rebuild. Then, we had to run back a team that had gone 10-6 the previous year. After that, we were trying to position ourselves for a top pick in a QB-rich draft. Now, we are breaking in a rookie QB. The fact of the matter is that despite having four drafts and four FA periods to build up the talent on this team, Maccagnan hasn’t moved the roster forward in the slightest. It’s certainly plausible that this roster is worse now than it was when he was hired. How he escapes responsibility for this — from many fans and media members — is absolutely confounding.

On the quality of the Jets game:
One of my favorite games of the year.
My power went out and I took a nap.

On Leonard Williams’ performance:
At What Point
Does Williams become a check mark against Mac? I mean you could say he made a pro bowl, ahh great, he was an alternate and didn’t have that great of a year. Besides that, what you got? He hurries the QB a lot, pushes the pocket, had a good amount of QB hits in 17’, I mean really what are we defending here? This is a results driven league and he isn’t producing. For some reason he gets excuses made for him constantly, needing more talented help, he does the dirty work, not being used properly…. How about watching him play and getting manhandled by the guard 1 on 1 or a TE coming and wiping him out of a hole? He’s playing like 17’ Mo, hand fighting at the line while getting zero push. Watching him I always get so frustrated, he doesn’t wreck any games, doesn’t make you excited, he’s just a body out there, so disappointing.

On the difference between Bowles and Belichick:
I thought it was hilarious that everyone assumed that the Pats would have gone for it on 4th. But when the Jets had 4th and 3 just past mid-field, they punted and it wasn’t the least bit surprising that Bowles would do so. That was a tiny illustration of the massive difference between Bowles and Belichick.

On the irony of Woody hiring Wolf as a consultant:
A few years back I read a book Wolf wrote in the 1990s about being a successful manager.
He dedicated a portion of the book to explain why he thought hiring consultants is a bad idea. lol
-John B
On whether or not Tom Coughlin is a moron:
You’re talking about the guy
That went into the season with Blake Bortles as option A and cody Kessler as option B
-GenoTime7
On important qualities of the next Head Coach:
Whoever the next guy is, I want a Head Coach.
Not a DC who still wants to run the defense. Not an OC who still wants to run the offense. A guy who hires good coordinators to do those jobs so he can focus on the big picture at all times. That’s why I’m good with Toub. In addition to the other qualities he is reputed to have he is not going to be his own DC or OC.
