Falcons vs Saints Game Thread

The traditional Thanksgiving Day football overdose concludes with what looks to be the best game of the day. In an NFC South rivalry game, the first place New Orleans Saints take on the third place Atlanta Falcons in New Orleans, Louisiana.

The 4-6 Atlanta Falcons come into the game having lost two in a row and clinging to faint playoff hopes. The Falcons defense has collapsed in 2018, currently ranked 29th in the NFL in points allowed. What’s more surprising is the offense has followed suit recently, scoring less than 20 points the last two games, both losses. The Falcons are still a dangerous team with Matt Ryan at quarterback and Julio Jones as his primary target, but things just don’t seem to be clicking this year. A loss to the Saints tonight would complete a two game 2018 sweep by the Saints and all but extinguish the Falcons’ playoff hopes.

The 9-1 New Orleans Saints come into the game riding a nine game winning streak and making a strong case for being the best team in the NFL. Future Hall of Fame quarterback Drew Brees is enjoying perhaps the finest year of his storied career, and he leads a Saints offense which is currently the most prolific scoring attack in the NFL. The Saints have scored 40 or more points in five out of ten games this season and 30 or more in eight out of ten games, making nearly every game against them either a shootout or a Saints blowout.

It’s the Falcons and the Saints in the grand finale of a Thanksgiving Day football feast. Enjoy the game everyone.
